ASUS ROG Strix XG259QNS Gaming Monitor for Esports 25 Inch, FHD , Frequency 380 Hz (OC), Fast IPS, Response Time 1 ms (GTG), HDR, DisplayWidget Center, Black
The ASUS ROG Strix XG259QNS is a high-performance 25-inch Full HD gaming monitor designed for competitive gamers who prioritise ultra-fast refresh rates, rapid response and clear motion. Featuring a 1920 × 1080 Fast IPS panel, an impressive 380Hz overclocked refresh rate and 0.3ms minimum response time, the XG259QNS is built for fast-paced FPS, racing, RTS and sports gaming.
The Fast IPS panel is designed to switch liquid crystal elements significantly faster than conventional IPS technology, helping minimise smearing and motion blur while maintaining the wide viewing angles associated with IPS displays.
For smoother gameplay, the monitor supports AMD FreeSync™ Premium and Adaptive-Sync, while ELMB Sync and Extreme Low Motion Blur provide additional motion-clarity options. The display also features 110% sRGB colour gamut, an E-calibration report, HDR10 and DisplayHDR 400 support.
The XG259QNS is designed specifically around modern competitive gaming setups. ASUS includes GamePlus, GameVisual, Shadow Boost, GameFast Input Technology and DisplayWidget Center, while the stand incorporates a smartphone socket and 1/4-inch tripod mount for cameras or additional streaming accessories.
25-Inch Full HD Fast IPS Display
The XG259QNS features a 25-inch IPS gaming display with a 1920 × 1080 Full HD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.
Full HD provides a practical resolution for competitive gaming, particularly when paired with extremely high refresh rates. It also allows compatible gaming systems to target high frame rates without the rendering workload associated with higher-resolution displays.
The panel provides 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, making it suitable for gaming setups where the display may be viewed slightly off-axis.
380Hz Overclocked Refresh Rate
The standout feature of the ROG Strix XG259QNS is its 380Hz overclocked refresh rate.
The high refresh rate is designed for competitive gaming where fluid motion and fast visual updates are important.
It is particularly suited to:
- First-Person Shooters
- Esports
- Racing Games
- Real-Time Strategy
- Sports Games
- Competitive Multiplayer
When compatible hardware can produce sufficiently high frame rates, the 380Hz mode provides exceptionally fluid motion and helps make rapid camera movement and target tracking clearer.
0.3ms Minimum Response Time
The XG259QNS offers a 0.3ms minimum response time, with a listed 1ms GTG response specification.
The fast response characteristics are designed to reduce visible ghosting and motion trailing during rapid on-screen movement.
This is especially useful when:
- Tracking opponents
- Flicking between targets
- Turning quickly in FPS games
- Following fast-moving vehicles
- Playing competitive esports titles
ASUS Fast IPS Technology
The Fast IPS panel is designed to deliver substantially faster pixel transitions than conventional IPS technology.
This allows the XG259QNS to combine:
- Fast pixel response
- Wide viewing angles
- Consistent image quality
- High refresh-rate performance
The result is a monitor designed around competitive motion clarity without moving away from IPS panel characteristics.
110% sRGB Colour Gamut
The display supports 110% sRGB colour gamut, providing a broad range of colours for gaming and multimedia.
The wider colour coverage helps produce more vibrant game environments, while ASUS also provides an E-calibration report to support colour accuracy.
This makes the monitor suitable for:
- Gaming
- Streaming
- Multimedia
- Content viewing
- Everyday desktop use
AMD FreeSync Premium & Adaptive-Sync
The XG259QNS supports AMD FreeSync Premium and Adaptive-Sync technology.
Compatible variable refresh rate technology helps synchronise the display with GPU frame output and can reduce:
- Screen tearing
- Stuttering
- Uneven frame transitions
This provides smoother gameplay when frame rates fluctuate.
ELMB Sync & Extreme Low Motion Blur
ASUS includes Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) and ELMB Sync features.
These technologies are designed to improve motion clarity by reducing perceived blur during fast-moving gameplay.
ELMB Sync allows motion-blur reduction to work alongside compatible variable refresh rate functionality, providing additional flexibility for fast competitive titles.
HDR10 & DisplayHDR 400
The XG259QNS supports HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400.
The monitor provides up to 400 cd/m² HDR peak brightness, allowing compatible HDR content to display brighter highlights and greater visual depth.
HDR support is useful for:
- HDR gaming
- Movies
- Streaming
- Bright outdoor game environments
- Dark and high-contrast scenes
Shadow Boost for Dark Scene Visibility
ASUS Shadow Boost is designed to enhance visibility in darker areas of games.
It can help reveal details hidden within shadows while maintaining the overall image presentation.
This can be useful in games featuring:
- Dark interiors
- Night maps
- Caves
- Underground environments
- Shadow-heavy scenes
GamePlus & GameVisual
The monitor includes ASUS GamePlus and GameVisual technologies.
GamePlus provides additional gaming tools, while GameVisual offers display presets that can be selected according to different gaming and content scenarios.
Together, these features make it easier to customise the monitor for different games.
GameFast Input Technology
GameFast Input Technology is designed to minimise input processing delay, helping on-screen responses feel more immediate.
This is particularly relevant for competitive gaming where quick mouse, keyboard or controller actions are important.
DisplayWidget Center
ASUS DisplayWidget Center provides software-based monitor management.
Users can adjust supported settings through a mouse without repeatedly using the physical OSD controls.
The software also provides access to the monitor’s available information and colour-calibration details.
E-Calibration Report
The XG259QNS includes an E-calibration report, providing information related to the monitor’s colour calibration.
This complements the display’s 110% sRGB colour gamut and supports its focus on consistent colour reproduction.

ASUS has designed the monitor stand specifically around modern gaming and streaming setups.
Smartphone Socket
A built-in mobile phone socket provides a convenient place to position a smartphone directly in front of the setup.

The brightness level supports clear visibility in typical gaming environments, while the contrast ratio provides separation between darker and brighter elements.
Anti-Glare Surface

This makes it suitable for gaming rooms and desk setups with ambient or overhead lighting.
